Are you a potential member of WeigelWorld?
On these pages, you can get an impression of the types of research questions we pursue and the sort of tools we use.
If you are interested in joining the department as a postdoctoral fellow, follow this link. If you are interested in joining the department as a PhD student, please visit this webpage. The joint PhD program is our preferred, but not exclusive way of recruiting new PhD students.
If you are interested in gaining experience as an undergraduate intern or as a Diploma student, contact individual project leaders.
Are you a colleague looking for resources or publications?
On these pages, you can obtain a (hopefully) up-to-date overview of our various and manifold research projects.
You can also browse our publications, find information about frequently requested research material, including a standard material transfer agreement that follows NIH guidelines.
Finally, you can access the various software and webtools that we provide free of charge to the academic community.
Are you a member of the general public interested in research?
Feel free to browse these webpages for a general impression of what questions we are interested in.
Photographs scattered throughout these websites provide snapshots of the atmosphere in this laboratory.
We moved from the Salk Institute in San Diego to the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in 2002. The Max Planck Society funds many of the world's premier research institutions.
We are collaborating also with colleagues at the other institutions on campus and the university.
